IEMA: Brexit would reduce environmental influence on infrastructure decisions

Environment Analyst have reported that according to a recent poll, two thirds of IEMA’s UK members believe that the way environmental issues are taken into account in infrastructure decision making would be reduced or removed altogether if the UK leaves Europe.

81% of participants in the poll said that European laws and regulations provide an important framework to deliver environmental protection and improvements,
and 60% said that if the UK were to leave the EU, they believe that there will be a lower level of legal protection for wildlife and habitats.
