Meiofaunal analysis

Meiofauna analyses are a specialist service that the Thomson marine team offers to provide very sensitive and realistic ecological assessment of environmental conditions in aquatic environments.

Meiofaunal analyses have been proven an ideal tool in monitoring contamination or spill studies as they provide valid and evidence-based results based on their community structure in terrestrial and aquatic sediments. Studies can help the regulators and developers in delineating impacts associated with industrial and natural spills, contaminations from treatments plants, and effluents and waste from industries by accurate and reliable detection of associated impacts. Such studies along with various physicochemical analyses provide evidence-based data for use in legal proceedings.

Our expertise in meiofauna includes quantitative and qualitative analysis of all fauna. We have experience serving both governmental and commercial clients and our staff have worked alongside Natural History Museum and Plymouth Marine Laboratory (PML) meiofaunal experts.
