Thomson Unicomarine’s Principal Taxonomist presents new species next week

Dr Ruth Barnich, Thomson Unicomarine’s Principal Taxonomist, will present and discuss her recently discovered two new Malmgrenia species at the International Polychaete Conference next week at the National Museum Wales in Cardiff.

Ruth will present her poster entitled Diversity of the genus Malmgrenia McIntosh, 1874 in the NE Atlantic re-assessed, on Thursday, and will also chair a session – the Ecology session – on Tuesday, which will cover topics including microplastics ingestion, particle selection and feeding behaviour of specific polychaete species.

Approximately 180 polychaete experts from all over the world will attend the five day event, which is the most important conference in the polychaete world.
