Central London arboriculture works

The arboricultural team at Thomson Ecology have been working at one of the most prestigious addresses in London – No.1 Sloane Gardens in Chelsea.

We were approached by our client to assist in the redevelopment of no.1 Sloane Gardens, which involves the proposed conversion and redevelopment of a 19th Century red brick mansion house and apartments into a luxury boutique hotel. The 18,000 sq ft conversion will create 30 luxury guestrooms and suites across 8 floors.

As part of our work scope we

  • Undertook an initial Extended Phase 1 Survey of the site
  • Surveyed trees on site
  • Carried out a desk study to determine the presence of any Tree Preservation Order or Conservation Area restrictions at the site
  • Produced a Tree Schedule and Tree Constraints Plan
  • Carried out an Arboricultural Impact Assessment (AIA)
  • Produced a Tree Protection Plan
  • Undertook exploratory excavations beneath the locations of six proposed pad footings, using an air spade
  • Carried out a BREEAM Assessment
  • Carried out a suite of bat surveys.

Our client said,

“The team from Thomson Ecology have been of huge assistance to us on this project. They have provided a first class service, and have openly communicated with us throughout the surveying and reporting periods. They have met all of our required deadlines, and have been of huge assistance. We look forward to continuing our working relationship with Thomson, and using them on other projects.”
