Our quality assurance to you

At Thomson Ecology we pride ourselves on the quality of our work.

We aim to provide all our clients with a first class service. Our quality management system is certified to ISO 9001.

Our professional ecologists are highly experienced at project management, survey planning and report writing – on time, to brief and to budget.

The environment is important to us and we take our obligations seriously. We are accredited with the ISO 14001 environmental standard.

On site we work as part of your team, abiding by your policies and procedures. Our staff are fully conversant with all of the latest Health and Safety requirements. We undertake full risk assessments and method statements in accordance with the requirements of the project.

We are appropriately insured for our work, with £5 million professional indemnity, £5 million public/ products liability and £10 million employers liability insurance cover.

Post-survey, we will supply you with a detailed, technical report containing the following:
• A summary in plain English
• A detailed description of what we did and what we found
• A clear explanation of the legal and planning policy issues to help the planners come to a decision quickly
• Practical, cost-effective recommendations
• Our professional opinion to guide you on whether the development proposals, with or without mitigation, are within the law
• First class mapping.

Each report and map is subject to our rigorous internal review which is part of our quality control system ISO 9001.  The report is checked twice (the first time by a senior ecologist or above, the second time by a principal ecologist or above) and then proof read before it is issued.
