Condition monitoring of SSSI and other protected sites
Thomson Ecology is experienced at carrying out assessments on the condition of Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSIs) and other designated wildlife conservation sites. We pride ourselves on our scientific integrity and, with a large team of highly qualified and trained ecologists, we can guarantee you first class ecological surveys.
In Great Britain, our very best wildlife sites are designated as Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). Over the years some of the habitats on these sites have declined. The Government has a target to raise the status of ‘favourable’ and ‘unfavourable, recovering’ sites from 88% to 95% by 2010.
Thomson Ecology is involved in monitoring the condition of these sites. Using standard assessment methodology we can carry out ecological surveys to see how they are faring in terms of biodiversity conservation.
If you would like to find out more about using our services to assess conservation sites, please call us on 01483 466000. or get us to call you:
