Geospatial and TIM

Award-winning interactive mapping

We are an award winning geospatial team that provides specialist environmental data management and spatial analysis of our clients' data - terrestrial, marine and freshwater.

Our state-of-the-art data mapping system, Thomson Interactive Mapping (TIM), can be used on any project to collate all the data into one place which can then be easily accessed by the entire project team, the client and other stakeholders. The data, including ecology survey results, photographs, satellite imagery and reports, can be uploaded or downloaded anywhere at any time.

What does this mean for our clients?

We have worked on a wide variety of projects involving hugely differing datasets, scales and extents for both commercial and government clients.

We are always ready to discuss your geospatial requirements for your projects – please call us or email us to talk to one of our geospatial consultants.

TIM won the Company Innovation of the Year award at the Construction News Awards 2015. The judges declared it to be “truly game-changing”, adding, “Thomson Ecology turns data into usable management information that makes it easier for clients and contractors to do their jobs”.

TIM was declared the winning innovation, beating seven other competitors in the category including London Underground, J Murphy & Sons and Costain.

The awards ceremony was held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in June 2015 where 1,200 industry members got together to celebrate the awards.

Tim Donoyou who collected the award, said:

“Winning this award is an amazing achievement, especially as we were in competition with some large companies with some fascinating innovations. TIM had already proved itself in the field through projects like East West Rail, but winning the Construction News’ Innovation of the Year award will, we hope, bring it to the attention of potential clients who haven’t yet had the opportunity to try it.”

TIM is a very powerful, easy-to-use mapping tool which presents ecology survey data in an accessible format; adding context and depth to the information it contains. Peter Broomhead, Environment Manager, Network Rail
